Sonal is a part of the Trademarks Opposition team at the firm and her practice focuses on contentious trademark matters, particularly oppositions and cancellations.

Her experience includes handling multiple portfolios of companies across diverse sectors – from pharma to luxury lifestyle goods. She works closely with clients’ legal and business teams and assists them in navigating through an array of issues in opposition proceedings such as identifying infringing trademarks, evaluating chances of success, arriving at co-existence/settlement etc. Clients benefit from her effective enforcement strategies and trademark portfolio management skills. Sonal is experienced in drafting notices of oppositions, counter statements, settlement/co-existence agreements, evidence by way of affidavits and in appearing before the Trade Marks Registry in relation to contentious matters.

Sonal has previously been associated with other prominent IP boutiques and her past experience also gives her deep insights into trademark prosecution. In addition, she has worked with the Indian Copyright Office where her responsibilities involved examination of copyright applications.

She has been invited by CIPAM (Cell for IPR Promotion and Management) and her alma mater for webinars/IP guest lectures to educate school and college students on several occasions.
