Shivani is a registered patent agent and deals primarily with drafting of complete and provisional specifications in the fields of electronic, electrical, mechanical engineering and computer related inventions. She handles prosecution of patent applications, particularly in the fields of energy and telecommunication inventions and is involved in conducting patentability/novelty searches for Indian and foreign clients, regularly advising them on the various provisions of the Indian Patents Act, their interpretations and manner of enforcement, with a view to ensuring the successful acquisition of patent rights. She also advises startups in securing patent protection and regularly represents clients at oral proceedings before the Indian Patent Office.
