Diwali Festivities

Diwali Festivities

Diwali is always a magical time in Delhi – the hot summer finally gives way to balmy days and crisp evenings. Markets and homes are festooned with lights and there is happiness all around. At Remfry, we always have a Diwali party and this year, we had a lunch with lip smacking street food on the menu! Chaat (savoury snack with fried dough and yoghurt), Aloo Tikki (small cutlet made out of boiled potatoes, onions and various curry spices), Mathra Kulcha (tangy dry green peas and leavened bread) and Bhelpuri (savoury snack of puffed rice, vegetables and a tangy tamarind sauce) were devoured by all, topped with meetha (dessert) – this included gulab jamun (fried dumplings in sweet syrup) and kulfi (frozen dessert on a stick – it is ‘traditional Indian ice cream’). Members of the Firm looked resplendent in traditional Indian clothing and a fun afternoon was enjoyed by all.
