Pharma IPR 2024

In early March, Remfry & Sagar Partner RANJNA MEHTA-DUTT was at the Pharma IPR India Conference and spoke on a very topical issue – CURRENT TRENDS & JURISPRUDENCE IN PATENT OPPOSITION.

She analysed whether the procedure for filing pleadings and evidence in pre-grant opposition proceedings needed review, the impact the Patents (Amendment) Rules 2024 (then still in draft stage) would have on opposition proceedings and also the take of the judiciary on the patent opposition process.

The session was well-received and the takeaways were especially pertinent given that the patent amendment rules came into force a few days later.
