Questions abound when it comes to NFTs! Ishith Arora (Associate at Remfry & Sagar) recently gave a very insightful presentation to Firm members explaining the concept, the popularity of NFTs in India and how Blockchain technology works. He also discussed trading of NFTs giving details of NFT marketplaces. Another grey area that was explored is the classification of NFTs – are they goods, securities or commodities? Peppered with examples, his presentation was both interesting and very insightful.

Taking on another trending topic, more recently Sunali Sharma (Managing Associate at Remfry & Sagar) took Firm members through the various challenges patent amendments can face on account of prevailing law and practice. Sections 57 and 59 of the Indian Patents Act were spoken about and the need for consistent interpretation of these provisions was highlighted.
