With over 20 years of professional experience, Jayanta has handled a diverse spectrum of intellectual property matters for several prominent domestic and international companies. He is a patent expert, especially strong in drafting and prosecuting applications, and handling oppositions in respect of mechanical, electrical and electronic patents. He focuses on complex matters that require a deep understanding of the law and striking a balance with the practical needs of industry.

His current practice is complemented by comprehensive previous experience involving trademark and design laws.

At ease with the varied nuances of protecting IP in India, he often represents the Firm at various forums in India and overseas. Countries in the South East Asian region are a particular area of focus and currently, he is also in charge of the Japan desk at the Firm.
